Press Release

As a special opportunity for our favorite clients and friends, Joan Mirviss is pleased to announce a two day trunk show of renown textile artist SAITO HIROSHI. Born in Yokohama, Japan, Saito began his career in textiles as the apprentice of a yuzen artist, hand painting designs on kimono. Finding this traditional craft too restrictive, Saito broke free and developed his own highly personal visual vocabulary. His individually hand-dyed fabrics are transformed into jackets, shawls and other wearable pieces by contemporary Japanese designers. He will also be presenting textiles that may be used either as wall hangings or shawls.

Created from very fine wool muslin, a lightweight, soft fabric that drapes elegantly and breathes well, Saito's clothing is not only visually arresting but also extremely comfortable to wear.

Let us know if you will be able to attend!
