19th Century Ukiyo-e and 20th Century Shin-hanga - From the George Crawford Collection - Exhibitions - Joan B Mirviss LTD | Japanese Fine Art | Japanese Ceramics

Following the success our recent zoom presentations on the extraordinary exhibition at Oberlin College, Ukiyo-e Prints from the Mary Ainsworth Collection, we are excited to announce our fourth on-line exhibition, 19th-century Ukiyo-e and 20th-century Shin-hanga from the George Crawford Collection. Over a lifetime of collecting, George Crawford sought out and acquired exceptionally fine and rare Japanese woodblock prints. This exhibition marks our second exploration into his carefully honed collection.

This online show will focus on the Utagawa school showcasing landscape, kacho-e and figurative prints by the masters Hiroshige, Kunisada and Kuniyoshi as well as prints by Kunikazu, Yoshitomi and Suzuki Hiroshige II. The exhibition also features 20th-century shin-hanga landscape prints by Kawase Hasui and Yoshida Hiroshi.

If you have any questions or would like to reserve a print for your personal collection, please contact director@mirviss.com.
