Ao: Summer 2010

  • "Ao" is the Japanese word that conveys either blue or green, both rich colors evocative of summer, blue skies, green foliage, blue-green seas – nature in its essence.

    This summer Joan B. Mirviss LTD will present a selection of aoi works of art that include paintings and screens with themes celebrating nature by leading Edo period artists together with the aoi contemporary ceramics of Fukumoto Fuku, Hamanaka Gesson, Kato Yasukage, Kawase Shinobu, Morino Hiroaki Taimei and Tsujimura Kai.
